UNIMED management dissociates itself from the reinstatement of dismissed DVC

The management of the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED) in Ondo State has denied allegations that Professor Adolphous Loto, the university’s sacked deputy vice chancellor, has been reinstated.

The institution’s Senate fired Loto in May for what it deemed unbecoming conduct, including frivolous, false, and baseless complaints against the university management.

According to a statement issued over the weekend by the institution’s Deputy Registrar, Governing Council, and General Administration, Ezekiel Adeniran, the clarification came in response to public allegations that a court had ruled that Loto be reinstated.

The school administration argued that the case was still in court and had yet to be decided, and there was no such court pronouncement.

“This report is mendacious and a calculated attempt to mislead the public with a view to creating an imaginary crisis within the peaceful and progressive university community.

“At the appropriate time, we will make a comprehensive statement on the matter, so as to put the records straight,” the statement read.
