The Borno State Police Command has confirmed the death of Prof. Ruth Wazis, former Head of the Department of Business Management at the University of Maiduguri, who died in an accident at home.
Yusuf Lawal, the Commissioner of Police, confirmed the incidence in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), saying it occurred on Sunday.
Lawal claimed that while the professor was parking her car in her garage, a mechanical problem led the vehicle to accelerate unexpectedly, knocking her to the ground and stepping on her chest.
He said she died from her injuries before being taken to the hospital.
