The management of Kwara State University, Malete, has declared that a male student’s portal has been disabled after he was allegedly witnessed making inappropriate contact with ladies during a skit.
Dr. Saeedat Aliyu, Acting Director of University Relations, remarked on Wednesday that disabling the portal is a first-line punitive measure pending the results of the Student Disciplinary Committee’s investigation.
She said that the skits do not reflect the institution’s ideals or the ethical views of the vast majority of KWASU students.
“KWASU is an institution that prides itself on producing the total graduate, both in character and in learning, and has zero tolerance for any form of indiscipline.”
Aliyu claimed that the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Jimoh Shaykh-Luqman, issued the decision to disable the concerned student’s portal as a first-line punitive measure pending the outcome of the Student Disciplinary Committee’s investigation.
“We wish to reiterate that KWASU holds in high esteem the values of decency that all religions promote and will not condone any act that can jeopardise this value,” she said.
