Kano: Board plans libraries in LGs to revive reading culture




KANO (Sundiata Scholar) – Malam Suleiman Hodi, the Acting Executive Secretary, Kano State Library Board, says the board has plans to establish public libraries in all local government areas of the state.


Hodi who disclosed this in Kano on Thursday shortly after a tour of some public libraries in the state, said that the initiative would revive reading culture among the youths.


“The board will soon submit a report to the ministry of education for the establishment of libraries in all the 44 local government areas,” he said.


He stated that the state government was committed to enhancing learning and improving education standard in the state.
“This project will indeed revive reading culture among our students. It will also provide seminal resources for researchers in the state.

“This initiative is in line with the current government’s policy on education and youth development,” he said.(NAN)
