TASUED suspends examinations over death of final year student

Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) Ijagun has suspended semester exams following the death of Fabiyi Ayinla, a 400-level student.

The deceased was attacked on campus on Wednesday by unidentified individuals suspected of being cultists, inflicting several injuries on him before being rescued by school security personnel.

Fabiyi was a student in the Department of History and Diplomatic Studies at the College of Humanities. He died hours later while being readied for transport to Babcock University Teaching Hospital (BUTH) Ilisan.

Odubela Ayotunde, the university spokesperson, stated in a statement yesterday that the school has chosen to postpone exams on July 4 and 5 indefinitely due to Fabiyi’s death.

He stated that the university has reported the incident to the Nigeria Police, and some suspects have been arrested.
