Naja’atu Salisu, a 300-level computer science student at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi, was discovered unconscious after falling in the bathroom on Friday morning.
According to sources, Naja’atu went to the bathroom in the female hostel on the university’s Gubi campus to have a morning shower and prepare for her classes but was later discovered unconscious on the floor.
“She had completed her usual morning routine and brought out the clothes she intended to wear to class, leaving them beside her bed,” said one of Naja’atu’s roommates, who preferred to remain anonymous.
ATBU spokesperson Zailani Bappa confirmed the occurrence, stating that she was brought to the university’s clinic for medical treatment, but medical workers were unable to find a vein on her body.
He stated that Naja’atu was transported to the Trauma Centre of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, where she was pronounced dead by doctors.
Bappa went on to say that Naja’atu was buried according to Islamic rites and he prayed for her soul to rest in peace.
