FCE Katsina to start degree programmes in 2025

The Federal College of Education (FCE) in Katsina has announced plans to start running degree programs in 2025, following the federal government’s approval for institutions of education to run dual degree programs.

The provost of the college, Dr. Aliyu Idris Funtua, who made the above disclosure while addressing newsmen in Katsina yesterday, to herald the 27-43 convocation program of the institution, which comes up Saturday, July 27, said the college has the requisite infrastructures and personnel to run the Degree Programme.

He said: ”We have a dual mandate (degree, NCE) from the federal government for the commencement of the 2024/2025 degree programs next year with the admission of new students.”

”We have the enabling environments, the requisite infrastructures, personnel including 93 PHDs, 116 MA, befitting laboratories, including CBT centres to run the programs

The provost also stated that his tenure, which began in 2016 and will end in August 2025, has recorded tremendous achievements and overcome the various challenges it had experienced at the beginning, as the college image has improved while academic programs have recorded huge successes and are accredited by the National Commission for Colleges of Education.

He attributed his accomplishments during his term to hard effort and integrity, noting that he had to advocate for interventions from TETFUND and other regulatory bodies to get infrastructure on the ground.
