Ododo stresses need for FUL research collaborations

LOKOJA (Sundiata Scholar) – Gov. Usman Ododo of Kogi has urged the Governing Council of Federal University Lokoja (FUL) to explore more opportunities for partnerships to enhance research and development.

The governor gave the charge on Thursday when he received the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Sen. Victor Ndoma-Egba, and council members, who paid him a courtesy visit in Lokoja.

Ododo, represented by the Head of Service, Pastor Elijah Evinemi, Ododo expressed confidence in the ability of the new chairman and council members to build on the university’s developmental strides, given their impressive public service track records.

“My administration is committed to developing education in the state and requires enhanced collaboration with your university.

“The recent launch of the Barefoot Renewable Energy College at Kogi State University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, demonstrates this government’s willingness to support and promote education,” Ododo said.

In his remarks, Ndoma-Egba sought increased support and collaboration from the state government to enable the university better serve the host community and the people.

The Pro-Chancellor appealed to the governor to assist in securing FUL’s Certificate of Occupancy for the land it occupied.

“This will greatly support us in developing physical infrastructure and implementing flood and erosion control measures,” he said.

Ndoma-Egba commended Ododo’s administration for its support and commitment to the state’s growth and development.

He also praised President Bola Tinubu for supporting the university’s development and the nation’s education sector.(NAN)
