Post-UTME: Unilorin screens 16,097 applicants for admission

According to Kamil Rauf, director of the University of Ilorin’s Computer-Based Centre, 16,097 candidates participated in the institution’s 2024 post-UTME screening on Monday.

While addressing journalists in Ilorin, Mr Rauf acknowledged his satisfaction with the exercise’s smooth execution, attributing the huge turnout to proper preparations made by university management.

“The success recorded in the exercise was a result of the material and human resources support given to the CBT by the management. During the exercise, the centre employed the use of high-level technological innovation put in place by the institution,” he said.

Mr. Rauf further stated that the quality of infrastructure at the CBT had a beneficial impact on the university’s internal examinations.

He stated that these comprised departmental exams, Institute of Education exams, Centre for Open and Distance Learning exams (CODL), remedial exams, and post-UTME screening.

According to Mr Rauf, the University of Ilorin also serves as a centre for police and pension service promotion exams.

“Others include examinations for the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, Nursing Council of Nigeria, and Agricultural Council of Nigeria, among others,” he said.

However, the director did not reveal how many admission applicants the university would admit for the 2024/2025 term.

”I will get back to the media on this once the decision is taken,” he said.
