Hillside University starts admission process into medicine and 29 other courses




The start of admissions for 30 different programmes for the 2023–2024 academic year has been announced by the management of Hillside University of Science and Technology (HUST), Okemesi, Ekiti State.

This came after the National Universities Commission (NUC) gave its permission following a final evaluation of the institution’s facilities by its resource verification inspection team.

Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof. Iheanyichukwu Okoro reports that the approved programmes are distributed across four colleges: Business, Law, and Educational Sciences; Agriculture, Life and Environmental Sciences; Engineering and Computing Sciences; and Health and Medical Sciences.

The College of Health and Medical Sciences offers courses in the following areas: Anatomy, Audiology, Dentistry, Medicine and Surgery, Medical Laboratory Science, Nursing Sciences, Optometry, Nutrition and Dietetics, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Physiology.

Aerospace engineering, chemical engineering, civil and construction engineering, data science, and software engineering are among the programmes offered by the College of Engineering and Computing Sciences.

The other fields include cyber security, computing and artificial intelligence, systems engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial and production engineering, computer science, and mechatronics engineers.

The Vice-Chancellor further listed Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Environmental Management and Toxicology, Petroleum Chemistry and Forensic Science as part of courses undertaken in the College of Agriculture, Life and Environmental Sciences.

The College of Business, Law and Educational Sciences offers courses in Accounting, Economics, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, and Mass Communication, according to Prof. Okoro.

The Vice Chancellor stated that the university, which is a first-rate entrepreneurial institution, was founded on an operational framework and curriculum inspired by industry and sustainability in order to fill the gap left by a famished population of mega healthcare professionals in Nigeria and the technology consumer market.
