The undergraduate Nursing and Agricultural Science programmes at Michael and Cecilia Ibru University (MCIU), Agbarha-Otor, Ughelli, Delta State, have been approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
The permission followed the resource verification exercise carried out by the commission in October 2023, according to a letter issued to the Vice Chancellor and signed by Mr. Abubakar M. Girei, acting Director of Academic Planning for the commission.
He stated that specialists gathered to evaluate the university’s readiness to start the various programmes gave it the all-clear throughout the exercise.
The university was previously approved by the commission to start a few postgraduate programmes in the 2023–2024 academic year.
These include Postgraduate Diploma, Masters and Doctor of Philosophy in business administration, accounting, economics, biochemistry, biotechnology, computer science and industrial chemistry.
The university is now well-positioned for future expansion and academic success thanks to the NUC’s recent approval.
