Gunmen abduct 56-year-old proprietriess in Ogun State

Mrs. Helen Odunubi, the proprietress of Excel Group of Schools, a nursery and primary school in Ogun state, has been abducted by some suspected kidnappers.

Around one o’clock on Tuesday, the event took place inside the school’s grounds in Agbado, Ogun State’s Ogunsua Crescent neighbourhood of Oserw Baba Odun Matogbun.

According to a source in the area, the incident began when two women and two men entered the school’s grounds in an unregistered Toyota Sienna that was the colour of ash and proceeded straight to the proprietress’ office.

It was also reported on Wednesday by the proprietress’s son, Ayodeji Odunubi, that the four people had not been seen in the vicinity before to Tuesday’s incident.

He claimed that his mother was taken inside the Toyota Sienna that the suspects had driven into the property a few minutes later.

The son said they had quickly driven off before anyone could question them.

The 56-year-old had not been located as of the time of this story, and her kidnapper had not contacted her family to demand a ransom.

Omolola Odutola, a spokesman for the Ogun State Police Command, discussed the incident and said that as soon as they learned of it, the police in the Agbado Division were alerted and invaded the school.

She mentioned that the local security agencies and the police were collaborating closely to locate the proprietress and save her from her abductors.

“Upon the receipt of the incident, our men in the division immediately swung into action along with other security outfits to rescue the lady.

“There is already a synergy between the police, the community leaders, and other security outfits in the community. I can assure you that efforts are in top gear to know the location of the victim and arrest the suspects,” she stated.
