UNN SUG appoints S Mobile CEO, Kingsley Adonu as Patron




Mr Kingsley Adonu, the founder and CEO of S Mobile Group, has been appointed patron by the executive council of the Students Union Government (SUG) at the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN).

In a letter dated March 29, 2024, signed by Comrade Enoch Utazi, President, SUG of UNN, the students stated that Adonu’s appointment was in the best interests of the student union government due to his previous involvement in youth and student constituencies both at the University of Nigeria Nsukka and outside the institution.

Kingsley Adonu is a visionary entrepreneur and the founder of the S Mobile Group, a conglomerate synonymous with success and diversity.

As CEO, he has led the group to remarkable heights, overseeing a diverse range of businesses including telecommunications, oil and gas, real estate, hospitality, water production, agriculture, technology, e-commerce, and energy, with branches in the UK, USA, China, South Africa, and Canada.

Under Kingsley’s savvy leadership, S Mobile Group has emerged as a key partner for MTN, as indicated by the S Mobile brand’s significant position in the telecoms landscape.

His philanthropic endeavours extend beyond business, showing a genuine belief in successful individuals’ responsibility to make meaningful contributions to society.

In his acceptance letter, Adonu thanked the student body for the honour and promised to continue supporting the SUG and youths in the community.

“I am delighted by this honour you have done me by making me your pa­tron. Truly, the youth is the beacon of hope of the society and that is the rea­son I leverage every opportunity I have to champion the course for the digital skills development of our young ones.”
