The Governing Council of Al-Hikmah University in Ilorin, Kwara State, has confirmed Moriam Adeyemi Aremu’s promotion to professor along with seven other academic staff members.
Aremu is the only female among the promotees, making her the university’s first female professor in its nearly 20-year history, which began in 2005.
Aremu began working at Al-Hikmah University as an assistant lecturer in 2009 and advanced to the position of reader in 2021.
She was appointed acting Head of Department in 2013 and is now the Director of the Centre for Summer Studies at Al-Hikmah University.
