NCAT seeks Ministerial approval to commence drone training

The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) Zaria has requested approval from Mr. Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, to begin drone training.

Mrs. Stella Nwankwo, Assistant Chief Planning Officer, NCAT, stated this yesterday at the ongoing 4th Drone Technology Conference and Exhibition, organised by the convener of Nigeria Aviation (NIGAV) at Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMA), Lagos, during the visit of Dr. Emmanuel Meribole, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, to the college’s stand.

According to Nwankwo, the college had made all of the essential preparations for the commencement of drone training.

She stressed that the college had trained instructors to ensure a smooth transition of the course at the college.

She listed the six NCAT schools, stating that the institution offers part-time Post Graduate (PGD) programs in aviation management in Lagos and Abuja, as well as Ordinary National Diploma (OND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) engineering courses in Zaria.

In his answer, Meribole called on the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to do the needful by processing the certification that would enable the college to begin drone training for students and other interested parties.
