Army Day Secondary School Bori Camp Port Harcourt Class of 1994 Old Boys Association (aka The Golden Set) made history on Saturday, May 5, 2024, by appointing its first female commanding officer, Mrs. Winifred Yongosi, to pilot the association’s affairs for the next two years.
The significant event was held at Vineyard Hall, GRA Phase 2, Port Harcourt, Nigeria, and was attended by her classmates, business associates, industry captains, friends, family, and well-wishers, who gathered in large numbers to witness Commando Winifred Yongosi’s formal inauguration ceremony.
The handover ceremony featured speeches from the National President, immediate past commanding officer, Commando Henry Iwegbu, the Eleco Chairman, Promise Wonodi, Kingsley Robert and Hon. Aleruchi Victor.
Commando Henry encouraged the new leadership to value teamwork, while the National President stressed the importance of unity and selfless service.
An ex-commander and BOT Chairman, Bestman Wobo, urged the new team to serve with a sense of responsibility and compassion for humanity.
This remarkable event organised by Marvellous-led eleco was remarkable in ushering a new chapter for the ADSS Golden Class 94.
